A group of conditions including:
- Achilles Tendonitis: Tendon thickening or inflammation of the tendon sheath, likely vascular in nature
- Insertional Achilles Tendonitis : Pain at thickening at insertion of Achilles to heel bone
- Haglund deformity: Enlargement of posterosuperior tuberosity of the heel bone
- Retrocalcaneal Bursitis : Inflammation of bursa at the back of the heel
Treatment: Following a biomechanical examination, footwear assessment and possibly some radiology, a treatment plan could include: Footwear changes, taping, offloading padding, orthotics, exercise regimen, icing and anti-inflammatory medication.
